3 Deaths and the Day of Atonement

An interesting teaching on the distinctions between the Day of Passover and the Day of Atonement.

What are the three deaths every person faces? What is the difference between Christ’s work on the Day of Passover and his work on the Day of Atonement? If Christ atones for our sins on Passover, then why must we “afflict our souls” on Yom Kippur, the Day of Expiation (Atonement)?

    Hi Glenn –
Thank you for putting this together in such a simple and eloquent way.
Being afflicted with ADD it takes some effort for me to focus and understand/remember. So I watched the 3 deaths and day of atonement twice and had my KJV bible handy. I also read some of the writings of Kenneth Visscher.
This has opened my eyes to the concept that God indeed loves all of us. The lake of fire is essential to “burn off” any remnants of impurity. And then all of us will eventually bend our knees to Jesus Christ. He is our King.
I am a fellow FE believer. And I also strongly believe that Jesus indeed wants us to walk in His way. We all have a story and mine is of the prodigal son , I had thrown away most of my inheritance. I came back to Jesus Christ broken and now stay with Him. Some say we zig zag our way to heaven. I don’t think so any more.
This is a great body of work that you have done and I thank you for this effort. I am a student of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The darkness of the world makes me afraid – for my family – for me – for all of us. It brings me to my knees and to Jesus Christ and He gives me peace again.
    God bless.
    Don
