Today’s Bestial Governments Devour Their Own Citizens

I’m a lawyer, a general practice attorney that handles all kinds of cases, including criminal ones.  My most recent case involves a thirty year old man who takes care of his crippled mother and blind father on a full time basis.  He also helps an older brother who suffered a massive heart attack  a few years ago.  He gets paid about $300 a week by some state agency for his “in-home” care which keeps both parents out of nursing homes and off of Medicaid.  The nursing home rooms would cost Medicaid about $6,600 per month.

Last week this young man had been with his mother at a friend’s house and had consumed two one-shot vodka drinks during the afternoon.  A few hours later they began to drive home.  Lo and behold, they drive into a police roadblock somewhere close to town.  (This is quite a regular occurrence even in this wilderness area where they regularly make random stops of vehicles.)  The man’s eyes are perpetually slightly bloodshot because of a chronic physical condition he suffers.  I know this because I interviewed him in the morning, this is how he looked, and I determined he was sober and not “hung-over.”   The police officer, based upon his blood shot eyes evidently, put the man and his crippled mother into his cop car and drove to the nearest police station, about three miles away.

Once at the police station the officer gave my client a blood alcohol breath test.  The officer administered the test twice and seemed upset.  The citizen did not know why.  Then the officer gave the man a ticket for driving while intoxicated, kept his license and insurance card, and told him he and his mother could leave.  The CITIZEN asked the officer for a ride back to his car, but the officer said he had to walk.  Not only that, he had to push his crippled mother in her wheelchair three miles back to his car!

After I interviewed my new client, I called the officer and asked him a few questions.  First, “Why did you not drive them back to their car?” I asked.  He answered that their policy is to refuse to take inebriated people back to their cars.  But, the question remains, why didn’t he deliver the mother there and just let her await her son?  Second, I asked, “Why did you not give the citizen the usual form with information for appeals one gets after a breath test is done?”  He said, “I did give him one.”   Third, “Why did you not give him his license and insurance card back?”  Again, he assured me, “I did.”

The next day I got a call from that police officer.  He said he had just remembered that he did not issue the man the standard form because he had actually passed this breath test!  “But,” he said, “I still thought he was drunk when I stopped him so I gave him a ticket!”  He also said that he gave the man his license and insurance card back, which my client continues to deny. My client will now have to say that he lost them in order to get ones issued and have to pay the appropriate fees.

In our state the legal limit for driving with alcohol is 0.08 which usually calculates to about two drinks, two beers, or two glasses of wine for a medium sized person.  This citizen had had two drinks hours before the arrest.  He was clearly not “drunk” when arrested.   Yet, the officer placed him and his crippled mother in an untenable situation by accusing him of drunkenness without evidence and making them walk three miles back to their car.  And why?  To get about $200 for the bestial state that now rules all of our lives.  And don’t forget, they used an unconstitutional road block to start the whole arrest.

These are not isolated events.  This type of lawlessness happens all across our country.  Our government now feeds off its own citizens through its outrageous tax system and overly aggressive law enforcement system, that is, overly aggressive against those who often do not break the law.  Those really lawless ones whom the law enforcers overlook are the ones who make our laws, judge in our courts, run our banks, and rule our government.  They usually don’t go to jail; they get appointed to ever-higher office.

Such is Babylon, the Mystery.
