THE DESERT OF SIN

Go in, yes go in

to the Desert of Sin

and I will teach you faith

Go in, yes go in

to the Desert of Sin

and I will show my way

Though giants assail you

I'll never fail you;

I'm your refuge in every fierce fight

I'll guard all your ways

in a bright cloud by day

and a fiery pillar by night

I'll give manna to eat

each day as you need

but not more than enough for your work

Now don't grumble or whine

when you're craving to dine

on temptations that come from this world

In the Desert of Sin

the river is thin,

a trickling stream from the Rock

And when the water is rare

I'll find how you fare,

to see if you walk as you talk

But if craving to eat

the foulest of meat

you forsake all of my daily bread

you'll return to your vomit

like the dog that came from it

and re-visit all that you dread

Come in, yes come in

to the Desert of Sin

to the heat of my spiritual test

The way may seem long

and the scorching wind strong,

but the end is eternal rest.
