Answered Prayer

Answered Prayer

I prayed my ears would open,
that my blind eyes would see;
I prayed to know you better,
that your Spirit would fill me

Then I looked down at the waters,
saw waves darken moving in;
I wondered what I saw
and said, “It is the wind.”

Then I knew that you had answered,
though I could not see your face;
“God is here!” I said aloud,
“God is in this place!”

The wind continued blowing
soothing my poor soul;
my mind began to clear
as your Spirit made me whole

I came, I asked for water;
You sent a stream to me instead
Now I bask in living water
as my meat and as my bread
