I AM

I AM

I’m not trying to fit in;
I don’t

I’m not trying to make a name for myself;
I already have one

But I am trying to hear the wind
and discern the voice of the Spirit
when she blows

I am trying to keep my head
above the tumult of the waters,
above the raging of the sea

I am still trying,
I am still working,
I am still waiting,
I am.
