I Am the Door of the Sheep (My Sheep Hear My Voice 8)

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.

So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me,he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them andscatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. 17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”

19 There was again a division among the Jews because of these words. 20 Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him?” 21 Others said, “These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?” (John 10:1-10 ESV)

Worldly wisdom tells us that many different doors exist that can lead us to God including Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Satanism, New Age “ascended masters” and any other “ism” you can think of. But, Jesus made it clear. He is and was not one of many human beings who had learned to master his flesh and ascend into the very presence of God. He was the actual Son of God, the only human being who had ever beheld the true face of God. Today a mad push exists attempting to equate all religions. Adherence to this belief demands than no one religion call itself supreme. Thus for the last century we have witnessed the powers that be, usually in the form of federal judges, declare Biblical laws unconstitutional. The belief that Jesus Christ and his commands constitute truth has to be destroyed at all costs! How else can the present ruler of this world, Satan, actually rule the world?

Those who have read my words for some time know that I teach “the restoration of all things,” that someday all men will bend their knees to Christ and declare that he is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. But, I do not believe that this occurs in this age. No, in this age Jesus has only called his sheep to follow him. He does, though, possess goats, a clean human by faith in him (although not obedient to him) and dogs, unclean humans who do not believe in him and who do not obey him.  These will not come into his presence during this age. Some will remain alive and come under the jurisdiction of his overcomers in the next age. The rest, those who have died, must wait until the second resurrection when they will be judged and then thrown into the lake of fire for the purification of their sins. (This fire is not literal; it is the application of God’s Word to their souls.)

Jesus equates the goats and the dogs (wolves) with “the world” in the Book of John. These are people who follow the ways of the world instead of the ways of Christ. They still watch much TV, go to many movies, plays, concerts, sports events, etc. and still walk in the dominant politics and philosophies of the world. They dress, act, and talk like the world. They partake of the sins of the world and now call good “evil” and evil “good.” They have not separated themselves from the world and have not consecrated themselves unto Christ as the Scriptures teach them to do.

Every one of Christ’s sheep enter into the sheepfold one way… through the door. Jesus is that door. No other way exists by which we may come into the sheepfold and into the presence of God. “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” says Jesus, “No one comes to the Father except through me.” NO ONE.

So examine yourself. Faith in Christ comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. You cannot have faith in Christ unless you can hear the Word of God. Do you hear his word? Good. Now, do you do what that word says, or do you make excuses about why you do not have to obey his word? Consider the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25. Why did five of the virgins, five Christians, have no oil? They did not obey Christ’s words. Their lives were not pressed out by the word of God as olive oil is pressed out of the olive. Pressure creates oil. If Christ’s words have not created pressure in your life, then you have no oil. While time remains, then, go to those who sell oil, to those who teach the truth. Buy it (consume it, eat it). Only a little time remains.
