The Law (1)

The Law, truth, two witnesses

In my generation I have seen my country, that country which has been esteemed for many years as the preeminent “Christian” nation in earth, turn utterly and totally away from God’s Law. What was once illegal and considered vile is now legal  and often praiseworthy among the nations leaders, America’s judges, mass media, and teachers.

We now live in the time when men call evil “good” and good “evil.” Those who proclaim the truth will be blacklisted and oppressed in these evil days. I have personally seen it and have even been subjected to it. Because men have rebelled against God’s Law and now actively persecute his people, His judgment must now come. In fact that judgment has begun. Only one thing can stop it. Our nation must repent of its many sins and embrace God’s ways as its ways.

I am now going to begin a series of short articles which praise the virtues of God’s Law. I will base this upon Psalm 119. Psalm 119 is a Hebrew “acrostic” poem. Each stanza of eight verses begins with a Hebrew letter, each in order from the first letter of their alphabet to the last.  Here are the first eight verses.

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. You have commanded us to keep your precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep your statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all your commandments. I will praise you with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned your righteous judgments. I will keep your statutes: O forsake me not utterly. (Psalms 119:1-8 KJ2000)

God promises blessings to the person or nation which walks in his ways. A curse, of course, is the alternative to those persons and nations who refuse to embrace truth and the way of righteousness. Only those who endeavor to keep his ways will be unashamed when Jesus comes to rule the earth. Only their praise shall be accepted by him. Let us each determine to walk in God’s way of truth, righteousness, and morality.

Homosexual Agenda

Day of the Lord, lawlessness, Mystery Babylon

Homosexual practices and their agenda to destroy culture rank among the most evil of Mystery Babylon’s traits.  Below are some links concerning that agenda and where it has taken the world.

Structures Fail

Mystery Babylon, Poems

Structures fail
when that which once
held them together
dissolves and falls away

So it is with
roads and bridges,
corporations,
governments and peoples

When structures fail
the world as we know it
comes to an end
as society crashes

Structures fail
when good becomes evil,
evil becomes good,
and what is vile
is exalted among men

Structures fail.

Good Evil

lawlessness, Mystery Babylon, News

We have entered the day when many people cannot even speak their beliefs to another person without fear of losing their job, arrest, or some other sanction.  Of course, the only beliefs you cannot speak are those that are true.  The rebellious, the evil, the perverted, and the murderers do not want to be told they are wrong.  They want to be affirmed in their wickedness.  The day of their destruction is coming, yes it is coming, and sooner than they think.  Here is just one recent example: Man Fired for Saying Homosexual Marriage is Wrong

Hypocrite

Elohim, Gospel, Mystery Babylon

Jesus reserved his harshest rebukes for hypocrites.  Just read Matthew 23 to see how severe this criticism was.  It is important that we understand why.

According to Strong’s dictionary the word hypocrite comes from the Greek word hupokrites and means “an actor under an assumed character (stage-player).” and figuratively means “a dissembler.”  A dissembler is one who conceals or disguises the actual nature of his intentions or feelings.  In other words, a hypocrite is fake.  He ain’t what he appears to be!

Consider Jesus’ words to one of his first disciples, Nathanael.  When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him he said, “Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!”   What is guile?  Guile means “treacherous cunning or craft; deceit.”  Nathanael had none of this in him and he knew it, for he answered Jesus, “How do you know me?”  This tells us that we know whether or not we are hypocrites.

Jesus chose twelve disciples in the beginning.  Only one of those eleven, Judas Iscariot, was a hypocrite and Jesus knew this when he chose him.  The question today is, are you a hypocrite?  Am I a hypocrite?  How can we know?

Paul teaches us that ”if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.”  (1 Cor. 11:31)  We judge ourselves according to God’s Word, according to the Scriptures given by his prophets, according to the teaching of the Bible.  If we reject the authority of Scripture, then we have no basis by which to judge.  Then all we have are ”worn arguments and old attitudes” which many Americans “still cling to” according to leaders of the left who wants us all to accept homosexual perversion as normal and acceptable.  (Remember, A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.  Ecclesiastes 10:2)

These leaders of the left clearly reject the authority of Scripture for they proclaim that it contains nothing but “worn arguments and old attitudes.” Yet, many call themselves “Christian” in order to be accepted by the majority in America.    A true Christian, though, is a disciple of Christ, one who accepts Jesus’ teaching and strives to obey it.  These leaders of the left want us to accept them as Christian.  They want to look like Christians, but they are play-acting.   They have assumed characters which they want to portray as Christian.  By pretending to be Christian they disguise the actual nature of their intentions and become classic dissemblers, just like the Pharisees two thousand years ago.  Thus, the left as a group presents us with manifold examples of the Biblical hypocrite.

Are you a hypocrite?  Do you say one thing and always do another?  I am not asking whether or not you make the occasional slip into sin.  Do you claim the name of Christ and then allow your daughter to live with her boyfriend in your own home?  Do you regularly purchase and use illegal drugs?  Do you often curse and tell dirty jokes?  Do you habitually look at pornography?  Do you watch today’s television sitcoms?  Do you have grace to watch all the new “R” rated movies in order to find the “prophetic” or “spiritual” message in it?  Do you get caught up in all the latest fads like tattoos and piercings?  Did you pay for your daughter’s or son’s girlfriend’s abortion while claiming to be a Christian?  Do you or the daughter who lives in your home dress seductively?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, then, unless you have repented and are practicing righteousness, you are a hypocrite.  If you are a hypocrite, you have one hope.  Repent of your many sins, including your hypocrisy.  Then walk in the way of Christ by abiding in his Word and obeying it.  If you fail to repent, you remain outside of New Jerusalem, God’s Kingdom, for “outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.”  Rev. 22:15 (ESV)

The hypocrite “loves and practices falsehood.”   He does not practice righteousness.  Are you a hypocrite, or do you practice righteousness?

Of the Truth

Elohim, Gospel, truth

Are you “of the truth?”  How do you know?  Can you even know?  Many people believe in the doctrine “once saved, always saved,” and, of course, that is true because the Bible clearly teaches that Jesus died for the sins of all.  Just read Romans 5 if you doubt this.  Five is the number of grace and Paul makes it clear five times there that all men are saved by Jesus’ death and resurrection.  I will try to write about the salvation of all mankind in the near future, but for now, if you do not understand or doubt this essential doctrine, please read the book The Restitution of All Things by Andrew Jukes.

Today the question is, how can one become and know he is “of the truth?”  John holds the key:

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.  [6] If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.  [7] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.  [8] If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  [10] If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:5-10 (ESV)

I have noticed a strange thing in my later years.  Christians who are connected to the Harlot Babylon, the church made by men’s hands which buys and sells religion, do not repent of their sins.  For some strange reason they seem to think that they do not sin, or if they do actually recognize a sin from time to time, they believe that the forgiveness of Jesus preempts their need to repent.  As the wise man said, such thinking is baloney!

John says that anyone who walks in darkness, yet says he fellowships with Jesus (that is, he says he is a Christian, a Methodist, an Episcopal, a Baptist, a Catholic, a charismatic, etc.) lies and does not practice the truth.  Again, anyone who claims to believe in Jesus and yet walks in darkness lies and does not practice the truth.

What does it mean to walk in darkness?  It is the opposite of walking the the light.  Isaiah best defines it, I think:

Woe to those who call evil good
        and good evil,
    who put darkness for light
        and light for darkness,
    who put bitter for sweet
        and sweet for bitter!
  Isaiah 5:20 (ESV)

To walk in darkness is to walk in evil ways instead of good ways.  It is to partake of evil instead of good.  It is to call evil good and good evil.  Jesus said, “It is written, ’Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ “   Immerse yourself, wash yourself, in God’s Word.  Remember, ”all of God’s words added together reveal God’s truth” (Ps. 119:160).

So, learn God’s truth, which is God’s light.  When you do not walk in that truth and light, you walk in darkness.  John and Paul teach us that no one can walk perfectly in God’s light unless they do one thing.  They must practice righteousness by repenting of their failures to walk in that light, that is, they must repent of their sins.  In this way they remain in the light.  I could learn and know all of the Bible and yet still not practice righteousness.  Do not simply read the Bible each day, or all of it each year, but do what it says.  You do what it says by actually doing it and, when you fail to do it, by repenting of your failure.  If the Word of God does not affect your life, for example, if you still even partake of “course jesting” (you know, if you watch and laugh at late-night talk shows, today’s sit-coms, movies, or tell off-color jokes yourself), then you are walking in darkness and do not practice the truth.  Then you are not “of the truth.”

The truth dwells within each person who practices righteousness.  2 John.  This one, and only this one at present, is the son of God who is “of the truth.”  All the rest are sons of the devil.  I ask again, are you of the truth?

Knowledge of the Truth: Evolution

Mystery Babylon, truth

Man’s doctrine of evolution stands out as his most blatant and successful, so far as his rebellion against God is concerned, suppression of the knowledge of the truth.  Men carry this suppression so far that they will not even allow the contrary opinion of creation to be taught in their public schools.  Scientists and academics who believe in creation and dare to teach it or refer to it in their work are routinely expelled from their jobs and blacklisted from getting new jobs.

Recently we saw worldwide newscasts that men had finally found the “missing link.”  A simple look at these old bones shows that they resemble a man in almost no way.  This long-dead beast simply shared similar aspects of man’s created body.  The only missing link this proved was the missing link in men’s thinking, namely God Himself.

I have been studying history for years.  Until recently you could find almost no historical work that claimed to explore any human civilization older than about 4,000 B.C., the Biblical date of Adam’s creation.  All books on human origins took you back to Ur of the Chaldees or the fertile crescent between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Iraq.  This indeed was the location of Eden.  Here was where men began to move and multiply upon the earth.  Now, of course, we have “carbon dating” techniques which pretend to show much older civilizations.  But, do not be deceived.  Men work hard to suppress the truth.

And what is the result of mankind finally believing that he evolved by chance and time from cosmic gas and slime?  He acts like the beast he thinks he is.  For him there is no absolute truth, nothing really right or really wrong.  If he can think it, he does it, for no morality exists to guide his thoughts, actions, or inventions.  Hence we live in a world of progressing nightmare.  We cannot trust our governments or our scientists because we do not know what they might to do to us or others.  And so we tolerate or fear atomic, chemical, or biological warfare, scalar weaponry that can destroy massively from great distances away, chemtrails that routinely block our skies doing who knows what, poisons in our air, our water, our blood, controls on every aspect of our lives, road blocks in the heart of the country with police just waiting for any tiny infraction they can find, police-state goons sweeping in and taking law-abiding citizens co-op supplies at gunpoint, cities refusing to allow Christians to teach and pray in their own homes, sex change operations that further confuse people already confused, nanobots they want to put into our blood, ….

Yes, the doctrine of evolution has proved man’s greatest tool for convincing almost all other men to take the throne of their lives away from their Creator.  Through evolution’s godless and bestial doctrines mankind en mass literally became the beast that rises from the sea (of mankind) with seven (complete) heads and ten (number of law) horns (power).  Ten is the number of the Law and the beast’s ten horns demonstrate that he lives by the power of his own law, not God’s Law.   Mankind has rejected truth and become lawless.  The man of lawlessness has now been revealed and the consummation of the age is at hand.

Suppressing the Truth (The Man of Lawlessness)

Mystery Babylon, truth

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For in it is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and deity; so that they are without excuse: Because, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was fitting. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not proper; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they who commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:16-32 KJ2000)

This passage states that mankind deliberately suppresses God’s truth.  More than that, they actually turn God’s truth into a lie.  We see rampant examples of this everyday in the once Christian nations of the West.  Actions specifically condemned by Paul (and, indeed, all of Scripture) are now approved and even celebrated by modern Christians in these nations.  Just read the sermons on abortion and homosexuality by the “Reverend” Katherine Hancock Ragsdale, Dean of Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA to get a real sense of turning God’s truth into a lie.  Ragsdale in these sermons commits the blasphemy and unforgivable* sins of calling evil good.  If you have been reading F.B.’s commentary on Revelation you will understand that Ragsdale is a “carnal Christian,” one who has committed “sins unto death.”  See 1 John 5:16-17.

This active suppression of the truth and the turning of the truth into a lie reveals the times in which we live.  This is the “mystery of lawlessness” Paul alludes to in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.  Mankind en mass has now exalted himself and his opinions above God’s revelation of truth, thus proclaiming that he (man) is God.  The apostasy, or rebellion, spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 literally means “a standing away from” or “divorcement.”  It speaks of divorcing oneself from the truth, which is what apostasy literally means.  The man of lawlessness in now revealed.  He is not just one man; he is every man that does not practice righteousness by confessing and repenting of his sins.  The man of lawlessness cannot confess because he cannot admit that God defines truth and he does not.

Thus, we now live in the time when the parousia of Christ may occur and the Sons of God may be glorified.

* Deliberate rebellious acts against the Truth remain unforgivable until a person repents.

What is Truth?

Elohim, Gospel, truth

Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world— to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”  [38] Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”  John 18:37-38 (ESV)

Did you ever notice that Jesus did not answer Pilate?  Why not?  Because his entire 3 1/2 year ministry (indeed, his whole life) had exemplified the truth which his own natural and written word had declared to mankind for centuries.   Because Jesus himself IS the truth.  He did not need to speak because HE WAS the truth.  And, he has revealed himself, his truth, to man from the beginning.  As his Word says, ”The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.”  Psalm 119:160 (ESV)

Concerning truth Paul says, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,  [2] for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.  [3] This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,  [4] who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.  [5] For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,  [6] who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.  [7] For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle ( I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.” 1 Tim. 2:1-7 (ESV)

This very interesting passage tells us God’s desire concerning mankind: He wants all people to be saved and he wants all people to come to the knowledge of the truth.  Do you think that God’s desires will be fulfilled?  Or, will the vast majority of the human race be left unsaved and consigned to eternal hell?  Will the masses stay in bondage to sin and lies, or will they come to the knowledge of the truth?  What does God want to happen?  Do you think he is wise enough and powerful enough to get what he wants?  Or, is he simply the God of our imaginations who fails as often as we do?  In other words, is he no God at all?

And who is Jesus?  In this passage we learn that Jesus is the mediator between God and man and that he gave himself as a ransom for ALL men, not just some.  God is the God of ALL.  Jesus is the Savior of ALL.   Jesus and his Father desire ALL men to be saved, that is, to share eternal life with them.  And, in order to be qualified to share life with them,  they desire that ALL men come into the knowledge of the truth.  God is a God of truth, not lies.  Therefore, those who dwell with GOD shall know the truth and walk in it.  Now let us begin to understand it and its ramifications.

Since You Say, “We See!”

Elohim, Mystery Babylon

We learned previously that we maintain our righteous standing before God by constantly confessing our sins and repenting for our wrongdoing.  We learned through Daniel’s example of prayer in his ninth chapter that we should even identify with our people, our brothers, and confess and repent of their sins as if they were our own.  But, what effect does that have and are we really to repent for every other person’s evil on the entire planet?

Today, let’s examine the following Scripture: Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains.”   (John 9:41 ESV)

Obviously Jesus did not “repent” for the religious hypocrites in view here in John 9:41.  He, in fact, did quite the opposite.  Rather than repent for them, he told them, “your guilt remains.”   Remember, Jesus was “slain from the foundation of the world” according to Revelation 13:8.  His blood has always been and will always be the remedy for sin.  So, he did not say this to the hypocrites because he had not yet died for them.  His blood had effectively forgiven all of their sins since the beginning of time since Jesus, in essence, had already died for them.  Yet, he proclaimed that their sin remained for the present.  Why?

We all know that we can see nothing unless at least some light exists to reflect off of that thing in our line of vision.  We also know that a fully blind man can see nothing regardless of the amount of light available.  He cannot discern the light that comes to his eyes even if it exists.  For him all is darkness.  In John chapter nine Jesus healed a man born blind, a man who never saw anything in his entire life.  He brought sight, i.e., light, to the blind man in order to show him and the rest of the Jews that He was the light of the world.  He performed a natural miracle in order to prove the spiritual reality that it is He who brings spiritual light to all men.

Yet, the religious establishment, the hypocritical Jews, continued to deny that Jesus was the Messiah even though he provided the natural and spiritual light to prove it.  Both his works (natural) and words (spiritual), which are the two witnesses, proved that he was the Messiah.  The religious elite believed that they knew the truth.  They insisted that they were the protectors of true spirituality for the people, that they could see spiritually on their own.  Thus they claimed that they saw (spiritual) and walked (natural) in truth.

Consider, who today correspond to the pharisees?  Surely this group includes Christians who claim that Jesus has saved them and yet walk in sinful ways that deny his very words.  But, the group is bigger than that.  Anyone who claims to see the truth and, therefore, thinks himself qualified to say what is true or false, right or wrong, yet does not subject himself and his words to the light of God’s Word, belongs to modern pharisaicalism.  He is the hypocrite who says he sees when he denies the light of God’s truth.  Thus Jesus says to him and to all who think like him, ” since you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains.”
