A New Paradigm

Elohim, Gospel, Mystery Babylon, Prophecy, Revelation

If you have been consistently reading the posts of F.B’s commentary on the Book of Revelation, then, by now, you should be walking in a new Christian paradigm.  I studied the Book of Revelation for more than thirty years before finally reading F.B.’s book.  Each commentary I read interpreted the symbols of Revelation in different ways.  Each interpreted the past or predicted the future differently.  All led me nowhere and over the course of my life I became more frustrated with the book.

Perhaps the most frustrating of all verses to me was the book’s very first verse which reads, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and revealed it by his angel unto his servant John.”   I remember yelling out to myself (or the LORD, maybe both), “How can these things shortly come to pass?  It’s been almost two thousand years since these words were written!”  Now I understand my problem.  I had been thinking in the wrong paradigm.  I had always learned and thought that Revelation predicted the future when it was written.

I knew that there were various schools of thought concerning this book from the very beginning of my walk with Christ.  In 1978, during my second year of knowing salvation, I studied the book in Bible school under the President of my Bible college, Glenn Bourne.  Mr. Bourne primarily taught us using notes from his forthcoming  book, Tower of Truth.  In that book’s introduction he writes, “Some study this Book with the idea that it is a history book.  They look to the history of John’s day for their understanding.  Others believe this Book is an outline of history beginning at the time of Christ’s first coming and  continuing until His return.  Still others think this book is primarily prophetic and are looking to the future for the fulfillment of its message.”  (Glenn H. Bourne, Tower of Truth, Litho Printers, 1982, p. ix)

Notice that each primary method for understanding the Book of Revelation deals with explaining it naturally, whether that explanation is past, present, or future.  But, Jesus taught us that his words are spiritual.  This is true for all of Scripture and no less for Revelation.  In order to comprehend this book we must approach it spiritually.  This is exactly what F.B. did when he sought God for its interpretation.  Over and over and over again the Holy Spirit sent him to other books of the Bible and to various translations of the Bible in order to decipher a particular word or phrase in Revelation.  As he obediently did that, the LORD revealed a consistent spiritual message to him.

The Book of Revelation is Christ’s love letter to his bride wherein he teaches her to come out of Babylon (false religion, the beast, the false prophet, the false church made with men’s hands) by practicing righteousness.  She (we, hopefully) does this through the process of repenting of her sins, thus cleansing herself continually with his Word.  Beloved, we have pursued the wrong paradigm in our study of this very prophetic book.  Jesus did not write it to prophesy the future.  He wrote it to prophesy (speak God’s truth concerning) the process of his bride overcoming the world so that she will be fit to rule the world with him when he comes again.

The Woman Rides the Beast

Mystery Babylon

Who is this woman we see in the 17th chapter of Revelation who is arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, and holding in her hand a golden cup?  Why is she such a mystery?  Because she is the personification of every religion that has ever walked this earth, including almost every manifestation of the Christian religion itself.  The only exception is that one which walks before God “pure and undefiled” as James says.  (And don’t think that just because you regularly visit widows and orphans that you automatically qualify as part of that religion!)

What?  The Christian Church is Mystery Babylon?  Shame on me for saying so!  Admit it.  This is what you think, or at least used to think.  So did I.  But,  consider the words of John the Revelator,

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters,  [2] with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.”  [3] And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns.  [4] The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.  [5] And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.”  [6] And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.  When I saw her, I marveled greatly.  [7] But the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her.  Rev. 17:1-7 (ESV)

Why did John “marvel greatly?”  Because he saw the end condition of the Church that he himself helped to begin.  How could John not marvel when he saw this sexually perverse woman calling herself “Christian” who had personally slain God’s overcomers over the past two thousand years?  Didn’t the Catholic Church persecute and kill Christians who attempted to know God for themselves outside of the restrictions of their doctrines?  Didn’t Cromwell and other Protestants kill Catholics because they held different doctrines and worshipped God another way?  Don’t you and I criticize other Christians for the way they believe?  Haven’t you been part of that church that believes it has the best pastors and teachers and walks closer to God than any other?   This is exactly the sin of Cain against Abel.  So, John marveled because what began as the epitome of truth devolved into the falsehood and whoredom of Mystery Babylon that we see today at the end of the age.

I and My Machine are One!

Elohim, Mystery Babylon, News, singularity

I rarely read books like The Singularity is Near, but I was drawn to this book.  Search the web or the libraries or the bookstores and you will find countless books by evolutionists who think they understand the world and the myriad aspects of this world like life, death, religion, philosophy, politics, morality, sexuality, psychology, and on and on.   As I read it I realized its profundity existed for one reason and one reason only, it speaks the truth.  This is not to say that every assertion that Kurzweil makes is true; they are not.  He makes some silly and some old assertions and gives the concerns of religion, of theism, very little attention in his book.  But, that’s okay.  He is an irreligious man who believes not in God.  Man, for him, is GOD.  He believes that man’s literal intercourse with machine reproduces an even GREATER GOD!  And, since man is God and does the programming that makes the machine which ultimately makes the machineman, then the machineman is good as God is good.  Thus, according to Kurzweil, have no fear for superman(machine) is here!

So, what is so profound about The Singularity is Near?   Mainly the term, singularity, which it brings to light, for that term essentially means “oneness.”  Kurzweil predicts, indeed prophesies more accurately than most Christians, the soon-coming oneness of man and machine.  “I and my Father are One!” proclaimed Jesus.  “I and my Machine will be One!” proclaims Kurzweil, and believe me, if nothing changes within the next few decades Kurzweil or someone like him will proclaim, and may proclaim truly, “The SINGULARITY IS HERE.  I and my machine ARE ONE.  WE ARE GOD!”

Within this idea dwells nothing less than the grand scheme and aspiration of Satan which is to dethrone the one true God.  Yet, the truth and the mystery remains that God made man in His Image.  God made man like Himself.  But, he could not, and he did not, do it in the way Kurzweil wants to do it.  He did not make man an automaton (although Kurzweil despises to use this phrase with respect to his own vision).  He created man in such a way that in order to become like his creator, he had to want to become like him.  He had to come to the point where he could discern good and evil and willingly choose the good.  Only then could man proceed to become like God.  Only then could man ever truly be in God’s image.

Kurzweil, on the other hand, possesses no image of the true God in his mind for he possesses no image of good and evil there.  He remains content to make a new type of man after his own image, the image of a machine which has no moral sense, which would as soon do this altruistic charity as that abominable atrocity.  Of course he would deny such assertions, for he uses the same lame philosophy as the libertarian who says that so long as one does not harm or damage another, he walks on the moral high ground.   But, it is exactly this philosophy which bought us sexual “freedom,” among other evils, and the resulting billions of dollars of cost and debt incurred by trying to cure the dreaded diseases this ”freedom” brings.  And, of course, free sex doesn’t hurt anybody.  Kurzweil, though, would tout this libertarian maxim as if it is the Golden Rule in his dream of immortality.  But, he has no comprehension of the Golden Rule’s true meaning, for he does not ground that rule in God’s immutable laws.

“I and My Father are One!” proclaimed Jesus.  “I and my Machine are one,” says Kurzweil.  With whom are you one?

Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? (Malachi 2:10)
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21)

The Singularity is Near

Elohim, News, singularity

The Singularity is Near takes credit for being the most disturbing book  I have ever read.  Written by Ray Kurzweil, inventor of the excellent Kurzweil keyboards and numerous other electronic wonders, the book predicts the nearness of ”singularity,” the coming “human-machine civilization.” (The Singularity is Near, Ray Kurzweil, Viking, 2005, p. 5).

Ray’s book prophesies the increasing merger of man with machine until, in probably less than forty more years, mankind is more machine than human.  To understand how this can be you must read his book, but I am of the opinion that he is correct.  Here are some of the ways in which this transformation, this “evolution,” will occur:

  1. “Along with the accelerating improvement cycle of nonbiological intelligence, nanotechnology will enable the manipulation of physical reality at the molecular level.
  2. Nanotechnology will enable the design of nanobots: robots designed at the molecular level, measured in microns (millionths of a meter), such as “respirocytes” (mechanical red-blood cells).
  3. Nanobots will have myriad roles within the human body, including reversing human aging (to the extent that this task will not already have been completed through biotechnology, such as genetic engineering).
  4. Nanobots will interract with biological neurons to vastly expand human experience by creating virtual reality from within the nervous system.
  5. Billions of nanobots in the capillaries of the brain will also vastly extend human intelligence.
  6. Once nonbiological intelligence gets a foothold in the human brain (this has already started with computerized neural implants), the machine intelligence in our brains will grow exponentially (as it has been doing all along), at least doubling in power each year. In contrast, biological intelligence is effectively of fixed capacity. Thus, the nonbiological portion of our intelligence will ultimately predominate.
  7. Nanobots called foglets that can manipulate image and sound waves will bring the morphing qualities of virtual reality to the real world.” (Id. p. 28)

According to Kurzweil’s vision man ultimately becomes more machine than human.  In fact, in my opinion, the ultimate status of man would be extinction, or the state of being kept alive as slaves for use by the master machine “race.”  The most disturbing aspect of Kurzweil’s vision is that he is right.  I used at least one of his inventions, for example, to create this blog.  I spoke into a microphone and my computer printed my words almost flawlessly.  Kurzweil invented the original program that I now use which is called “Dragon” and is produced by Nuance.  I have been involved with computer programming and systems on some level for almost thirty years and can tell you that his ascertions concerning exponential growth in human knowledge, achievement, and interactions with machines is real.

Ray’s is a simplistic, naive faith and religion, however.  He may think he is doing good and actually believe that the man-machine unity would be a good thing, but he is deceived.  He neither knows his own heart nor the heart of man in its wicked depravity.  Already we see the scourages on earth wrought by men’s scientific advances.  We have not yet seen the horrors that will surely arise from genetic manipulation of plants, animals and humans, but we will if time marches on with no one to prevent them.  Can we even imagine the evil, the horror, the catastrophe awaiting all creation when man melds with machine, a world of cyborgs and matrices where this is no way out, for then men will want to die, but be unable to?

“The singularity won’t destroy us, Kurzweil says. Instead, it will immortalize us. ” (from the biography referenced below)  But, Ray’s vision is the vision of Babel when men said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower, with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves….” (Genesis 11:4)  Ray’s singularity is man’s attempt to become one with the universe, but he has forgotten, like the multitude, that mankind was made in God’s image.  God’s goal with man is to mold him into the pattern of his son and become one with him in spirit, not to watch helplessly as he devolves into oneness with a material matrix of silicon and carbon.

The nearness of the singularity is a sign of the times.  Behold the time is at hand when God must do as He did to Babel.

Islam

Mystery Babylon

Islam is not a peaceful religion.  Christianity generally is, but has not always been peaceful either.  Throughout history millions have died in the name of “true” religion, whether Christianity, Islam, Hinduism,  Communism, or even Democracy.  Religion that kills others to prove itself true is false religion.  It is Mystery Babylon, in whom lies the blood of the slain of all the earth.

THE UNPARDONABLE SIN

Elohim, Gospel

Jesus said, “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world (age), neither in the world (age) to come.” (Matthew 12:31-32)

Men call this blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, “the unpardonable sin,” but what exactly must one do to be guilty of it? It is simply this, the calling of evil good and good evil. It is the blasphemy of taking the clear teaching of God (the word of the Holy Spirit) and saying that it means the exact opposite of what it says. The clearest example in the 21st century is the ordination of homosexuals to the ministry. The Holy Spirit in His Word clearly says that homosexual acts, like adultery and fornication, are sins. Today ministers and their perverse congregations “rejoice” in their homosexuality. In doing this they call evil good. Likewise they call good evil when they condemn Christians who practice and teach the truths of God’s Word.

So long as a person remains in a mind set that cannot perceive sin, i.e. who calls good evil and evil good, he cannot be reconciled to God. Why? Because, God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:5-10)
