The Traitors Have Betrayed

We live in a frustrating and, I think, unprecedented time in history. I believe we live in that particular time prophesied by Isaiah throughout much of his book that we call the Day of the LORD and the Day of Wrath, the time when God will judge men’s beast kingdoms and establish the Kingdom of God in power on the earth. One of the keys to understanding the prophetic Scriptures turns upon seeing that these two events happen simultaneously. This fulfills, for example, the prophetic picture (parable) of God’s holy priests stepping into the Jordan river to enter the promised land (Kingdom of God) exactly at the time of the Jordan’s flood stage. Both Daniel and Nahum prophesy this, saying,

And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed. (Daniel 9:26 ESV)

But with an overflowing flood he will make a complete end of the adversaries, and will pursue his enemies into darkness. (Nahum 1:8)

Events today have snowballed so far out of control that our tendency and temptation now will be to look upon all the evil coming upon the world instead of focusing upon the Holy One of Israel who has promised to protect and keep us in this treacherous time. This explains why Isaiah 24:16, from which the title of this article comes, seems so out of place. That verse says,

From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise,
    of glory to the Righteous One.
But I say, “I waste away,
    I waste away. Woe is me!
For the traitors have betrayed,
    with betrayal the traitors have betrayed.” (Isaiah 24:16)

Isaiah 24:1-13 describes the incredible judgments still to come upon planet earth, judgments so severe that other prophecies make it clear that multitudes of mankind shall be utterly destroyed. Consider,

Behold, the Lord will empty the earth[a] and make it desolate,
    and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants.
2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;
    as with the slave, so with his master;
    as with the maid, so with her mistress;
as with the buyer, so with the seller;
    as with the lender, so with the borrower;
    as with the creditor, so with the debtor.
3 The earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered;
    for the Lord has spoken this word.

4 The earth mourns and withers;
    the world languishes and withers;
    the highest people of the earth languish.
5 The earth lies defiled
    under its inhabitants;
for they have transgressed the laws,
    violated the statutes,
    broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore a curse devours the earth,
    and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt;
therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched,
    and few men are left.
7 The wine mourns,
    the vine languishes,
    all the merry-hearted sigh.
8 The mirth of the tambourines is stilled,
    the noise of the jubilant has ceased,
    the mirth of the lyre is stilled.
9 No more do they drink wine with singing;
    strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.
10 The wasted city is broken down;
    every house is shut up so that none can enter.
11 There is an outcry in the streets for lack of wine;
    all joy has grown dark;
    the gladness of the earth is banished.
12 Desolation is left in the city;
    the gates are battered into ruins.
13 For thus it shall be in the midst of the earth
    among the nations,
as when an olive tree is beaten,
    as at the gleaning when the grape harvest is done. (Isaiah 24:1-13)

This passage describes an incredibly violent earthquake (in keeping with other prophecies) which affects every caste and strata of society from the poor to the richest. According to verse 3 this fulfills God’s decree of utter destruction upon the wicked. As Daniel said, “Desolations are decreed.” Yes, desolations are decreed, but it is important to see that according to Isaiah 24:5-6 these desolations and destructions originate and flow from man’s own wanton violation of God’s laws. Just consider the ways in which man now destroys his own world:

  1. Geoengineering by HAARP and chemtrails
  2. Weather modification by HAARP and chemtrails
  3. Contaminating our food and seed supply by genetically engineering and changing God’s own created foods (GMO – genetically modified organisms)
  4. Experiments with atom colliders attempting to find “the God particle”
  5. Destruction of our oceans by oil disasters and then pumping poisonous corexit into the sea to try to hide it (The Deepwater Horizon disaster of 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico)
  6. Sex change operations
  7. Scalar weaponry
  8. Tesla systems to cause earthquakes
  9. Fukushima nuclear disaster which now affects the whole world
  10. Governments spying upon all their citizens
  11. Transhumanism – attempting to merge humans with machines
  12. Transhumanism – genetic modification of human DNA (chimeras)

In addition to the scientific travesties now affecting and ultimately destroying the earth our political leaders have also betrayed us by purposely destroying national sovereignty and morality. The United States does not guard its own borders and is on the verge of declaring amnesty to 20 million illegal aliens. State legislatures cannot pass laws to uphold Biblical morality because lawless and corrupt judges always declare them “unconstitutional.” Today we see men and women in all three branches of government working tirelessly to betray and destroy our nation. They are easy to identify. Edward Snowden revealed the massive corruption and surveillance by the NSA which threatens to make slaves of all Americans. He is  no traitor; he stands as the epitome of a hero who was willing to give his life for that which he knew to be right. No, we recognize traitors as those who dare to call Snowden a traitor. And we recognize traitors as those who delight in calling good evil and evil good.

Going back to Isaiah 24 now notice that God’s people begin to rejoice in the midst of his incredible judgment.

14 They lift up their voices, they sing for joy;
    over the majesty of the Lord they shout from the west.[b]
15 Therefore in the east[c] give glory to the Lord;
    in the coastlands of the sea, give glory to the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.
16 From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise,
    of glory to the Righteous One. (Isaiah 24:14-16a)

These short verses describe that which should be our attitude in these treacherous, traitorous days. Let us not focus on the evil that abounds. Let us not think that another constitutional convention, another man-made beast government, can now undo what man has wrought. No, we move now into a new age. Let us lift up our voices and rejoice that our King now comes to establish his rule. And do not bemoan yourself with “woe is me” because the traitors have betrayed you and those you love. Remember,

In that day mankind will cast away
    their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,
    to the moles and to the bats,
21 to enter the caverns of the rocks
    and the clefts of the cliffs,
from before the terror of the Lord,
    and from the splendor of his majesty,
    when he rises to terrify the earth.
22 Stop regarding man
    in whose nostrils is breath,
    for of what account is he? (Isaiah 2:20-22)
