World Net Daily just published an article warning Christians not to eat “food sacrificed to idols.” It claimed that many Christians eat food “blessed” in the name of the Muslim God “Allah.” Is that what Paul meant when he warned us not to eat food sacrificed to idols? I don’t think so.

The goal of these writings is to “make your calling and election sure” (2 Peter 1:10) and to prepare you to become a member of “the Church of the Firstborn” (Hebrews 12:23), the Church of the Overcomers. Don’t expect to “go to heaven” just because you have made a declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. Every person must finally become an overcomer before he may enter New Jerusalem, the home that Christ has prepared for us.
