This prophecy begins with a command for Israel to awake. This speaks of those who call themselves by God’s name and declare that God rules in their lives. This speaks of Christians! Many of you still sleep in ignorance of the times in which we live. Wake up! This word is to you!

The goal of these writings is to “make your calling and election sure” (2 Peter 1:10) and to prepare you to become a member of “the Church of the Firstborn” (Hebrews 12:23), the Church of the Overcomers. Don’t expect to “go to heaven” just because you have made a declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. Every person must finally become an overcomer before he may enter New Jerusalem, the home that Christ has prepared for us.
