A grain of sand
a speck of earth
a baby’s hand
beyond all worth
Never a sparrow
falls alone
but angels attend
to his lasting home
I try to grasp
your infinite mind
until at last
I say that I’m
too small to know
all structures real
too dumb to temper
careless zeal
too frightened to raise
a victory shout
too clouded by dark,
too shackled by doubt
But then I cast
my cares upon
the One who said
that we are one.
I trust He’ll with
safe conduct bring
me through life’s journey
when then I’ll sing
Now I behold
your lovely face
wherein I dwell
inside your grace
Now I behold
all aspects true…
you live in me
and I in You.
