Men have long recognized that the Book of Revelation predicts and portrays conditions during the time of the Day of the LORD. Many Christians believed they would be “raptured” out of this world before this Day came, but they were mistaken. The Day has come and we are still here. The Book of Revelation tells us that God brings the Day of the Lord for a specific reason. He must judge mankind because he has passed the point of no return. Man, as a group, can no longer repent. Many men no longer believe in him and those who do do not know his ways. The first group can never learn his ways.  Since they believe he does not exist and thus there are no specific “ways” to learn, they cannot, therefore, repent.  The second group, which includes all people who believe in one God, have so assimilated false religious ways that they can not now turn and walk in truth either.  They, like utter non-believers, cannot repent.  Together these people, all of mankind except God’s called and chosen faithful, make up the “man of lawlessness,” the man of sin who ushered in the Day of the LORD.

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That you be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, that the day of the Lord is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come the falling away first, and that man of sin [lawlessness] be revealed, the son of perdition. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3)

Remember, Revelation tells us about specific plagues which God sends upon mankind. He designs these plagues with a specific purpose in mind, to show and prove to them that they have passed beyond redemption in this age.

And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, and silver, and bronze, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk. Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. (Revelation 9:20-21 KJ2000)

Men today, of course, deny that they worship demons or own or bow down to manmade idols, but they do. Likewise they engage in every other sin which God forbade in his Ten Commandments. Unbelievers say these commandments have no relevance; believers say they have “grace” to disobey them, unless you are a Muslim. Muslims believe that you need to cut off the hands of children who steal a loaf of bread and execute Muslims who convert to Christianity. All alike have left God and his ways.

And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun; and power was given unto it to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, who has power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. And the fifth angel poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. (Revelation 16:8-11 KJ2000)

The man of sin is Adam, corporate mankind, who has reached the zenith of his “evolution.” He cannot repent because he has committed the unpardonable sin; he has blasphemed God’s Holy Spirit.  He calls evil “good” and good “evil.” He cannot turn from his evil and do good because he thinks the evil he does is good! This describes the Day we live in. We have entered the Day of the LORD. Believe it. Now let us watch the judgments of God continue to unfold as we seek to do his will in the midst of this chaos.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that you will cover and protect your chosen ones, that you will grant us a spirit of repentance from our sins, and that we will walk in your love, doing your will as these evil days wax worse and worse. Please give us wisdom to know what to do and say. Amen.
