Why do the nations rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. (Psalm 2:1-3)

For many years Psalms 1 and 2 have been among my most favorite ones. Now they are taking on a new and even more dramatic meaning. I had never seen them as prophetic regarding the times we now live in. Now I do.

Today almost all the nations on earth rage against their Creator and his anointed, his son, Jesus Christ. But, they do more than simply rage at God; they now deliberately “break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords” from them. This means that the nations actively change the laws and traditions which bonded their people together since the beginning.  World powers, especially those which once considered themselves Christian, like America and all the nations of Western Europe, flagrantly annul their long-standing Bible-based laws. In their places they implement laws granting special rights and tax considerations to abominable behaviors which God always condemns, behaviors like homosexual unions, sex-change operations, pornography in libraries, and abortions. Also, while they pass new vile and defiling legislation, they actively persecute Christians who try to uphold pubic morality. You can count on a liberal state or federal judge overturning any truly moral law a state legislature might actually pass. Just look at the California law upholding marriage between a man and a woman as one example.  Judges still prohibit its implementation, and California does not stand alone. This happens in state after state when a legislative body dares to pass a law which attempts to stop or slow down gross sins like abortion or pornography.

In the last two decades, however, events have taken a much worse turn. Now man actively modifies the genetic make-up of plants and animals, including insects, in his vain attempt to replace God with himself. He has set his sights upon changing man’s very DNA as he presses for immortality on his terms, and not God’s. Those who espouse and promote this new evil religion of transhumanism (changing man’s DNA, or merging men’s minds and bodies with machines) have now succeeded in bringing forth the same evil seen in the Days of Noah and, consequently, have provoked God to wrath. Jesus said,

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (Matthew 24:37-39 KJ2000)

God predicted this day long before that. Through the psalmist he said,

He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and distress them in his great displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. (Psalm 2:4-6)

The LORD laughs at those who attempt to escape and overturn his rule over them. He derides and mocks them in this anger. Now he will speak to them in his wrath. He will throw them into alarm, distress, and agitation in the midst of his anger. This psalm speaks of now; God is about to do something he has never done before, and those who believe in him and watch for his coming wait in bated breath for this to happen, for they know that his King has been installed on Zion and that he will act at the appointed time. “Behold you among the nations, and regard, and wonder and be astonished: for I will work a work in your days, which you will not believe, though it be told you.” (Habakkuk 1:5)

I will declare the decree: the LORD has said unto me, You are my Son; this day have I begotten you. Ask of me, and I shall give you the nations for your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. (Psalm 2:7-9)

It is almost time for the sons of God to be birthed, to become manifest in the earth. When they are each one will “declare the decree” that God Himself, the Father of all Creation, has declared to him (or her) that he (or she) has now become His son. He has finished his race, has received the crown of life, and has been declared an overcomer and thus a son of God, one of and with Elohim. These sons will then request and receive dominion over the earth and replace Satan who has ruled the earth since Adam’s fall. They will rule the earth with a rod of iron as promised to all overcomers in Revelation 2:27 and 12:5. They will reestablish the ancient foundations of God’s law and order and restore civil society to earth, after abolishing all of mankind’s wicked schemes and institutions by “dashing them to pieces.”

Thus, O you who deceive yourselves and rule in pride and haughtiness with impunity now:

Be wise now therefore, O you kings: be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. (Psalms 2:1-12 KJ2000)
