The ministry of the two witnesses in our day has now progressed from Moses to Joshua (Yeshua, the name of Jesus) with respect to the Law and from Elijah to Elisha with respect to the prophet.  Remember that Elisha came with double the anointing and power of Elijah.  This represents the firstfruits ministry of the first born of God, the Overcomers. I believe that this aspect of the two witnesses ministry is just beginning.  So, if we look at the book of Joshua, we will find some interesting road signs which prophesy about this time in which the second two witnesses ministry begins.

Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. (Joshua 1:1-2 KJV)

“Moses my servant is dead.” We cannot bring in the Kingdom of God in the power of our own strength, by strength of will, or by perfect obedience to God’s Law.  This Kingdom can only be established by resurrection power and resurrection power only comes through death.  Only one generation does not physically die before the establishment of God’s Kingdom on earth and that is the generation of those who “are alive and left” until the “last trump.”

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:50-52 KJV)

But, it is not all people, or even Christians, who are alive and left until the last trumpet that will be glorified.  It is those “elect” whom God has chosen to die to the things of this world before their physical death.  As Jesus said, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” (Matthew 16:25 KJV)  As you study Paul’s teachings you see that he always sought this particular status for himself, but even he was not sure he had attained it until shortly before his death.  Likewise, I do not know if I have achieved this and will be one of these elect.  I hope so, but God is the judge.

“Moses my servant is dead” speaks of these few elect, these few who know God’s Law, who esteem that Law, and yet know that they cannot perfectly obey it nor ever be perfected by it.  These are the few who know that indeed that Law changed in some of its application.  For example, we now know that all of the sacrificial laws have been fulfilled in Christ Jesus.  We know that Jesus implemented a “better covenant” than the old one begun by Moses.  Yet, Moses is esteemed.  Upon his death, he passes his baton to Joshua (Yeshua) who now must gather his courage and prepare to cross the Jordan, that is, enter into the promised land.  This speaks of the glorification of the body.  Brethren, we now stand at the banks of the Jordan.  The flood (of evil) has risen.  Soon we will be called to stand in that flood and when we do, that flood shall be held back by supernatural power and we shall go in to rule the land with a rod of iron.
