Men call this revelation of the Sons of God, or Elohim, the rapture. The rapture is not flying away to heaven as many assume. At the appointed time God will change the carnal bodies of His overcomers, those both dead and alive, into spiritual bodies. This is the first resurrection. These anointed ones will then rule the world with a rod of iron, which is the love of God. Then, and only then, the knowledge of the glory of the LORD will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea because God’s presence will spread forth throughout the world in a multitude of people.
But, when will this happen? Since 1996 I have read and been part of countless studies that attempted to predict the rapture and the Day of the Lord. In each case we have all been wrong. Some of these prophets (although they usually couch their prophecies with the words, “I’m not a prophet, but I believe…”) obviously spent hundreds, and some thousands, of hours developing their detailed time studies and prophecies. I have books on my shelves predicting 1998, 2000, 2006, and 2007. I know of web sites that predict one date after another, get it wrong every time, and yet continue to encourage others to partake of this foolishness as if it serves God! Please read God’s Food in an Hour Ye Think Not for more on this.
Nevertheless, it is true that we do see many signs of the manifestation of the Sons of God, of Christ coming in His people. The rampant growth of lawlessness and accepted evil is the preeminent sign. Christians voting for one manifestly evil President of the United States after another is another sign.
God’s forerunners have gone forth and they indeed do proclaim, “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”
