For I bear [her] witness that [she has] zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. (Romans 10:2)
Yesterday I posted a video by Ann Barnhardt. I posted it because Ann is clearly a woman who believes something and is not afraid to speak what she believes, even if it costs her life. I admire that, and I believe every Christian should be so bold as Ann Barnhardt.
I also posted her video because she fearlessly stands for truth, even if it costs her something. Christians lost America because they either did not believe anything or because they feared speaking for and acting upon the truth they did believe. When the Supreme Court outlawed reading the Bible and praying in public schools in 1962 every Christian parent should have withdrawn their children from the public schools. The system would have collapsed in a day and the parents would then have had all of their property taxes available to pay for their own private schools. Not only did they not do that, I do not recall any Christian pastors giving them advice to do that. Instead we witnessed sycophant Christians with worldwide ministries, like Pat Robertson and James Dobson, support public schools for the last fifty years, all while home-schooled Christian children excelled on every level. My wife and I, for example, home-schooled all five of our children with excellent results. One son graduated with a 4.0 (A) average with a double major from a major university and went on to graduate number one in his law class. Two daughters currently have 4.0 averages in their senior years of college. We were not willing for our children to be indoctrinated in the ways of the world in America’s public schools. So, we stood for something we believed to be true, just as Ann Barnhardt does, and I applaud her for that, commend her, and say, “Well done!”
But, Ann does not speak according to the wisdom of God. First, she belongs to the Catholic Church which remains steeped in cultish traditions and sins. Second, she lives by the sword (her pink gun), and Jesus warns that he who lives by the sword will die by the sword. I live by the sword, too, but it is a different kind of sword. I live by the sword of the Spirit, which constantly kills my flesh. Thus, in a spiritual sense, I die by the sword too!
The problem with Ann’s approach is that it will lead, and has led in the past, to the slaughter of everyone who disagrees with her theology. Catholics always killed the Christians they disagreed with, often those who actually sought to understand and obey God according to their own conscience. Protestants followed their example by killing Catholics and sometimes other protestants they disagreed with.
Clearly, America has failed to awaken to the threat of the violent and Satanic Islamic threat. Our government fails in myriad ways. It is about to fail completely, unless God miraculously extends her life. America’s failure, however, does not then mean that I can become a law unto myself, or a military unto myself, and then unilaterally blow up everyone I disagree with. No, I do not think Ann goes this far. But, she lives by a carnal sword and even flaunts that sword in the face of her perceived enemies.
Knowledge and wisdom, however, live by the sword of the spirit. We speak truth, a truth that will ultimately destroy every pretension lifted up against us. And a truth that will then restore every deceived person into a right relationship with God!
