Refuge

God has promised us who trust in him that he will never leave us nor forsake us, even if we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. In 2005 my newly married 21 year old son was involved in a car wreck that could easily have killed him. He came out virtually unscathed. When I saw his demolished car I wept. The LORD gave me this song a day or two after it happened. As I listen to it ten years later the words seem especially poignant in light of the world’s present disintegration into chaos. Trust in the LORD in times of great tribulation. “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3)
