Recently I warned you not to believe everything that you might read on websites that I sometimes post articles from. I had a very sobering experience this week from reading some posted articles on one of those sites. Before explaining this in detail, I will tell you something you need to know if you already do not. Many, many websites on the internet contain a mixture of truth and lies, purposeful lies. These lies become potent because of their mixture with truth. We read something there and sometimes know that what we just read is true. We have experienced it or learned it before. So, we keep reading, and reading. Then we begin to read things that are new. “I haven’t heard that before,” we say to ourselves. “But, since so much of what I have read here is true, then this may be true too.” So we read some more, until finally, we are caught!
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matthew 24:24)
Well, I recently read a whole book from one of these websites. This book presents Jesus with a new name. It very cleverly references Revelation 3:12 where Jesus says that he will write upon his Overcomers his “new name.” The book also gives a new name to our Creator. What are these new names? Jesus has become Sananda and the Father has become Aton.
The book itself mixes tons of hidden information that I have learned is really true with new religious “truths.” In fact, at the beginning of the book, the “angelic” author warns us not to just accept any entity which might now appear to us, but to “demand that if the energy is not of the `light’ of the Divine Source to remove itself. DO NOT ENTERTAIN ANY/AND ALL ENERGY FRAGMENTS WHO APPEAR TO YOU, FOR MORE AND MORE OF THE DARK ENERGY FORMS ARE MAKING CONTACT.” I spent about five hours reading this book. It was very disturbing. There were lots of things discussed that I knew were true, but … could this new stuff about Jesus, his new name, and the Creator be true?
Well, I prayerfully considered it. The Word, Jesus Himself, brought two Scriptures to my mind. First was, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27) Jesus revealed his voice to me in 1977. I have been listening for it, and hearing it, ever since. The “voice” in this book I had just read was not the voice of Jesus, period. The voice did not bring peace, joy, life, and righteousness. It brought fear. When I knew that it was not the voice of God, then Jesus brought the second Scripture to mind.
Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. … For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:1-15 KJV)
Take heed therefore how you hear… Part 2
