If the Mountains of Israel speak of God’s government (and by extension God’s overcomers who will make up that government when it becomes manifested), what Biblical mountain speaks of man’s (Satan’s) government which currently rules the earth? By reviewing the prophecy of Obadiah concerning Jacob (Israel) and Esau (Edom) which I discussed a few weeks ago here we see that God calls that government “the Mount of Esau.” And, by comparing Deuteronomy 2:5 which says, “I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession” with Ezekiel 35 we also see that God calls this government “Mount Seir.”
The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it, 3 and say to it, Thus says the Lord God:Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and a waste. 4 I will lay your cities waste, and you shall become a desolation, and you shall know that I am the Lord.5 Because you cherished perpetual enmity and gave over the people of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of their final punishment, 6 therefore, as I live, declares the Lord God, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; because you did not hate bloodshed, therefore blood shall pursue you. 7 I will make Mount Seir a waste and a desolation, and I will cut off from it all who come and go. 8 And I will fill its mountains with the slain. On your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those slain with the sword shall fall. 9 I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
10 “Because you said, ‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will take possession of them’—although the Lord was there—11 therefore, as I live, declares the Lord God, I will deal with you according to the anger and envy that you showed because of your hatred against them. AndI will make myself known among them, when I judge you. 12 And you shall know that I am the Lord.
“I have heard all the revilings that you uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are laid desolate; they are given us to devour.’ 13 And you magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and multiplied your words against me; I heard it. 14 Thus says the Lord God: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. 15 As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Lord. (Ezekiel 35:1-15 ESV)
Please notice the phrases I have in bold type above. Have you ever considered this question, how will anyone come to know that God is the Lord after he utterly destroys them as he promises to do to “all Edom?” The phrase “all Edom” as I showed here means “all Adam.” The term therefore speaks of all mankind for as Paul said, “in Adam all (men) die.” (1 Corinthians 15:22). But, Paul also said in the same breath, “so also in Christ shall all (men) be made alive.” All men clearly do not believe in Christ and therefore receive the earnest of the Holy Spirit in this life on earth. Once God deals with each man, however, as he promises to so do in Ezekiel 35, then each man will know that God is the Lord! Then, and only then, will each come into the life of Christ which Paul promised so long ago.
Today, however, we live in the time just before God will judge Mount Seir, or Mount Esau. Through transhumanism and genetic modification, for example, men now begin to play God and plan how they might live forever, apart from faith in God. They have assumed the mind set of Satan who proclaimed long ago,
‘I will ascend to heaven;
above the stars of God
I will set my throne on high;
I will sit on the mount of assembly
in the far reaches of the north;[c]
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’ (Isaiah 14:13-14)
But like Satan God promises to bring rebellious mankind into judgment.
“How the oppressor has ceased,
the insolent fury[b] ceased!
5 The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked,
the scepter of rulers,
6 that struck the peoples in wrath
with unceasing blows,
that ruled the nations in anger
with unrelenting persecution.
7 The whole earth is at rest and quiet;
they break forth into singing.
8 The cypresses rejoice at you,
the cedars of Lebanon, saying,
‘Since you were laid low,
no woodcutter comes up against us.’
9 Sheol beneath is stirred up
to meet you when you come;
it rouses the shades to greet you,
all who were leaders of the earth;
it raises from their thrones
all who were kings of the nations.
10 All of them will answer
and say to you:
‘You too have become as weak as we!
You have become like us!’
11 Your pomp is brought down to Sheol,
the sound of your harps;
maggots are laid as a bed beneath you,
and worms are your covers.
12 “How you are fallen from heaven,
O Day Star, son of Dawn!
How you are cut down to the ground,
you who laid the nations low! (Isaiah 14:4-12)
Now we see mankind animated by the spirit of Satan. Now we see Satan working through his minions, men he possesses, to utterly destroy the true Israel of God, the remnant of Christ in the world. He targets all who practice righteousness and who teach others to walk in holiness before God. Today men blackball and financially destroy, at the very least, anyone who dares to speak truth against Satan’s lies which rule the world. When they have the political and military power, like ISIS currently does, then men actually slaughter the remnant of Christ. Today that type of threat grows everywhere throughout the world. No strong political or military power currently exists which upholds truth and righteousness. But that is about to change. This is the end game. The mountains of Israel are about to ascend above every other high place on earth. Are you ready?
